Rosslyn Chapel and Glenkinchie Distillery
We make our way through the outskirts of Edinburgh as we make our way to Rosslyn Chapel, a fascinating building whose aura of mystery and magic is known World-wide, thanks to the popular book and movie “The Da Vinci Code”. The enigma of Rosslyn is further enhanced due to it’s connections with the Knight Templar and Freemasonary. You can discover more about the history of this place and marvel at the intricate carvings during our visit.
We will make a stop for lunch (not included) before continuing our scenic drive through the rolling East Lothian countryside to the charming village of Pencaitland where we will visit the Glenkinchie Malt Whisky Distillery.
The only distillery left in the Edinburgh area, Glenkinchie is one of the famous Classic Malts of Scotland. It is surrounded by the rolling hills and fresh water burns of the Lammermuir Hills whose soft waters contribute to the classic taste of this fine malt whisky.
On our guided tour we will learn about traditional distilling methods and get a behind the scenes look at how Scotland’s National drink is produced. At the end of our tour we will have a chance to taste the end product. Cheers, or Slainte Mhath (Good health) as we say in Scotland!
